A Greek name meaning Saffron scented, attributed to fragrance given off when dried flowers are put in water. Brilliantly colored flowers with deep green leaves. Ideal for cut flowers. Plant in a sunny spot. Grow them in large groupings for a beautiful, eye-catching statement in your garden. Crocosmia love rich, well-drained soil and once established in the garden, they will multiply rapidly. Hardy in zones 5-8; elsewhere mulch heavily for winter.
